Triunfo Avenue Construction

We are excited to share a positive update on the ongoing College Road Construction Project! We understand the extended duration of this project has been challenging, and we deeply appreciate your continued patience and understanding.

We are pleased to announce that significant progress has been made on the new roads construction on and around E. College Avenue. Crews have successfully completed the creation, paving, and striping of two new roads that will greatly improve campus access:

  • Triunfo Avenue: This new east-west thoroughfare provides a vital critical link between S. Main Street and S. Plano Street.
  • South College Avenue: This new north-south road enhances connectivity and traffic flow around campus.

In addition, we have:

  • Installed a community fence along Triunfo Avenue, enhancing safety and aesthetics.
  • Constructed a roundabout at the junction of Triunfo and S. College, promoting smoother traffic flow.
  • Completed the "knuckle" at the connection between South and East College Avenues. This will allow for smoother travel around campus and Vandalia Elementary and Pioneer Middle Schools.

We are currently awaiting the completion of street light installation on S. College and Triunfo Avenues along with the necessary city approvals to open the roads. We are optimistic that we will be able to open the roads and our parking lots soon.

This project will ultimately create a safer and more accessible campus for both vehicles and pedestrians. Furthermore, it will provide improved access to the new sports fields, which are currently under construction and expected to be completed this summer.

We are also, once again, including a look at the new traffic patterns that will come with completion of the project so you can familiarize yourself.

Again, we recognize that this project has taken much longer than anticipated, and we sincerely thank you for your unwavering patience and understanding throughout this process. We are nearing the finish line, and we are confident that the improvements will greatly benefit our entire campus community far into the future.
